The book I am currently reading, The Shining by Stephen King, has so far been amazing. The way the story is told and characters experience certain events, such as with Danny's nightmares, really start to give the chilling feeling that the book intends to give. It really captures you and we are even given some small hints at what comes later at the book, or may not be later in the book and may just be some mindless portrayal of nightmares in a kid's mind. So far I think this book will turn out to be a great piece that I won't be able to put down for too long without wanting to read one more chapter.
As the story continues, history of the area Jack is overseeing and history of himself is explained and more is shown by Danny's point of view. A clearer parallel between previous events and what might soon become of Jack's family can be seen, as Jack's difficult past (to say the least) is exposed to the reader and we learn more about how far south situations may go over time.
